Lot 5085 Banknotes - Germany - Federal Republic

Description

The double HOLBEIN: Federal Republic, 50 DM 1960, the Bill with spectacular printing error "double HOLBEIN". The printing resulted herewith once again mirror-inverted on the back as so-called "offset". As against postage stamps are those printing flaw by bank notes almost unknown and are among the rarities of this collecting area. Such printing flaw were by the controls, the at that time in the Federal Printing Office were very strict, ascertained. The certificate point at various fold traces on, a tear in the upper margin became with sellotape fixed, therefore there a little blotched. This cash note is since a long time in family ownership. The copy of a corresponding Zeitungsbeitrages from the year 1971 is enclosed. The owner at that time was the stamps dealer Max Jantzen. A significant rarity of the Federal Republic of Germany!
