1850-1, 12 c., black on pale blue, with initials of postal clerk Wight - EDW, cut SQUARE, with original small piece, tied by with both DEMERARA on 30 April 1851 and BERBICE ds, the stamp shows the usual slightly touched margins, compared to the other NINE known pieces this one is in exceptional premium quality, all used in BERBICE, SG £40,000 +, this stamp sold 2014 at David Feldman for a price of 56,000 Euro incl. the commission, ex John E. du Pont, cert BPA, XF! Estimate 56.000€.
