ABYSSINIA FIELD FORCE "F.F." DIAMOND CANCELS ON 4a GREEN PAIR + 8pi
LILAC COVER TO G.B. VIA FRANCE: Attractive 21 May 1868 env. from
the "FIELD FORCE POST OFFICE/ABYSSINIA" (unusually fine black cds
on reverse) with a filing note that the letter was written from
"Sooloo Abyssinia" on the front. Addressed to Cardiff "Via
Marseilles" and so franked (for the 8a 8pi single rate via France)
with 8pi Lilac and 4as Green pair all just tied by very fine "F.F."
Diamond Field Force cancels and by the sender's "Stamped"
endorsements. There is a 19(?) June "CARDIFF" arrival backstamp.
