Poste Italiane, Pechino Cina 1-12.17" double-circle datestamp with additional strike at bottom right on registered express cover to Rome, Italy, violet Italian Legation crest handstamp on back, "R. No." handstamp and "Espresso" label, violet censor handstamp, transit and Rome (Jan. 26) arrival backstamps, cover with addressee name excised, central file fold, and minute tear at top (none of which affect stamps) VERY FINE POSTAL HISTORY ARTIFACT. THIS IS THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THE 1917 40-CENTS ON ONE-LIRE HIGH VALUE USED ON COVER.
