(gaf) Switzerland will put its imprint on the 31st International Stamp Fair Sindelfingen. The German Study Group Switzerland will display a large array of collections in a special SALON. Among the 21 exhibits there will be some that have never been shown at a competitive exhibition. The exhibits have been selected to attract the advanced specialist as well as the interested novice who can get an impression of the diversity of the areas of collection and might be inspired to start collecting in a new direction. The SALON dedicated to the philately of our southern neighbour wants to show how intriguing its postal history can be. This year, the Swiss confederates are well represented in the postal history competitive exhibition “Postal history – live in Sindelfingen“. An international jury led by Dr. Helmut Seebald (Austria) will judge the exhibits. The exhibition comprises an international symposium as well. Werner Schindler (Austria), James van der Linden (Belgium) and Martin Gasser (Switzerland) have signed as speakers. A festive banquet with international flair is scheduled for the evening of the second day of the fair. The jury for the competitive exhibition MAMA 2013 during the International Stamp Fair Sindelfingen brings men of international renown together. Among others, you can meet Josef Wolff (Luxemburg), former President of the International Philatelic Federation FIP, and Albrecht Zimmermann, former chairman of the regional federation of South West Germany. The twelve-man jury also includes two national jurors. The jury will be presided by Walter Marchart. He has served on more than 100 exhibitions and counts among the most experienced jurors in Germany. Among the 57 exhibits of MAMA 2013 you will also find literature in addition to youth as well as one-frame collections. The international offer of the far more than 100 specialised dealers and editors as well as 30 postal administrations will appeal to beginners and young collectors, but will not disappoint the advanced philatelist, either. A special postal stationery Fair envelope of the Deutsche Post AG is dedicated to this year’s Europe theme “Postal vehicles”. Three special cancellations are reserved to the Stamp Day, the Swiss SALON (the Basel Dove) and this year’s Europe theme “Postal vehicles”. Service is once again a primary concern at the Stamp Fair Sindelfingen. More than 40 study groups and thematic societies, the large associations and the team of “True of false?” („Echt und falsch?“) are present to give advice and counsel. In the “Forum for Collectors“ you can listen to interesting conferences and discussions, and the event will be used to decorate the recipients of this year’s Hugo-Michel Youth Award and the Rauhut Literature Award. The opening ceremony includes the proclamation of the most beautiful music stamp. The programme for the young collectors is put under the motto “Youth Predator Days” and includes many interactive games. Dr. Sabine Steghaus-Kovac, biologist and book author, could be won to animate this part of the programme. For more information and current events, visit www.briefmarken-messe.de.
